New Holdings at Archivportal-D

By Archivportal-D

Archives join Archivportal-D for the first time on a regular basis by providing metadata on their holdings as well as digital reproductions. Archives already present on Archivportal-D increase the metadata on their holdings or increase the number of digital reproductions. With this new series we want to present quarterly updates on the growth of the information on Archivportal-D. Each month, we will also highlight one item joining the platform.

We are happy that the following archives have started to provide records to us:

Our Hand-Picked Highlight

The University Archives of Greifswald houses the Pomeranian Folk Song Archive. The Pomeranian Folk Song Archive was a regional collection center of the German Folk Song Archive in Freiburg im Breisgau, founded in 1914, and collected songs throughout Pomerania from 1926 to 1938. Today, the Pomeranian Folk Song Archive preserves approximately 14,000 song records from about 450 locations in Pomerania. The song records, lyrics, and melodies were digitized as part of a project funded by the DFG and can be searched via the website https://pommersches-volksliedarchiv.de, where some recordings are also available.
