A virtual exhibition by Telgte City Archives
On the occasion of Alfred Auerbach's centenary on April 20, 2023, this virtual exhibition looks back on the life and work of the Holocaust survivor. The shown documents and objects, most of which are kept in Telgte City Archives, bear witness to Alfred Auerbach's life in Telgte, the loss of his entire family as well as his emigration to Palestine during the Nazi era, and his later commitment to report the unspeakable horrors of the Holocaust.

In 1950 Karl-Heinz Hatlé embarked upon his first extended trip to the Middle East. One year later he visited Italy. He then took a break from travelling, continued studying 3D photography and took on an active role in the German Society for Stereoscopy. He resumed his travels in the 1960s with an exploration of the Northern African continent. In 1961 he went on his first trip to Asia, in 1963 he returned to the Middle East. Four years later he packed his bags and left for his second trip to Asia - this time venturing to Japan.
A virtual exhibition by Landeskirchliches Archiv der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen
The path to independence was marked by the circular letter of June 13, 1945, on behalf of the first church leadership after World War II, to the congregations, pastors and church representatives of Westphalia. It first bore the letterhead "Evangelische Kirche von Westfalen" and thus displayed the will to establish the Prussian church province of Westphalia, which had existed since 1815, as an independent state church. In doing so, Praeses Karl Koch implemented what the council Westfälische Bruderrat der Bekennende Kirche had decided for the church's future in 1944.
